About James T. Hardy
James T. Hardy is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pastor Hardy has been preaching the Word of God since March 1993. He has served as a presiding Elder at Victory Temple Church of Deliverance, New Orleans, Louisiana, and as Assistant Pastor of New Home Full Gospel Ministries, New Orleans, Louisiana. In March of 2001, he founded New Covenant Evangelistic Church, Gretna, Louisiana pastoring until August 2005 following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
In 2008 he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible/Theology and a Master of Divinity Degree in 2012. In 2017 he earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Virginia University of Lynchburg, and in May 2023 he earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Systematic Theology. From 2006 – 2008 James served as First Assistant Pastor of Temple of Praise Church of God in Christ (COGIC). From 2009 until now he has served as the First Assistant and Interim Pastor of True Love Full Gospel Ministries, Westwego, Louisiana.
From December 2012 to the present, James has been serving on active duty in the United States Navy as a Chaplain. He has served as Officer-in-Charge of Marine Expeditionary Fleet Religious Support Unit 219, Destroyer Squadron Chaplain, Command Chaplain, Battalion Chaplain, Deputy Hospital Chaplain, and CREDO Chaplain.
James has served as Pastor of Foster Gospel Community of Faith Church, Camp Foster, and Okinawa, Japan while providing pastoral care to five battalions, serving five thousand Marines, Sailors, and dependents throughout three military installations.
In addition to James’ numerous awards, and medals, he is also a National Association of Veteran Affairs Chaplains Board Certified Member. Pastor is endorsed by the Church of God in Christ in Memphis, Tennessee.
